The Zumba® Academy is brought to you by and is exclusively available through Zumba® Fitness — www.zumba.com

The Zumba® Academy provides many opportunities for first-time (new) instructors and are welcome to begin their teaching journey with Zumba®. Both Fitness and Dance Instructors can also learn to teach Zumba® so that they can offer Zumba® classes at their facilities. Anyone interested in teaching a Zumba® class or session must attend a Zumba® Instructor Training Course and then must keep their instructor status current through the many options offered by the Zumba® Academy.

The first step in becoming an Official Zumba® instructor is to attend a Zumba® Basics Level 1 training.

This course teaches you the foundation and formula to teach a Zumba® class. You will learn the steps to four basic rhythms (Merengue, Salsa, Cumbia, and Reggaeton), how to put them together into a song, and how to create your first Zumba® class. You will be provided with the tools and resources to teach a Zumba® class.

No prerequisites.

This course covers steps for four different rhythms (Belly Dance, Flamenco, Tango, and Samba) while reinforcing the Zumba® formula for success in providing an easy, fun, and effective class for everyone.

You'll learn secrets about technique, have a chance to network and share choreography with fellow instructors, plus work on improving your professional status and skills.

Prerequisites:
Must be a current Zumba Instructor and member of the Zumba Instructor Network (ZIN™). This workshop is offered at 50% for ZIN members.

This course is designed for any instructor who wishes to teach the active adult population or the true beginner (deconditioned) participant.

Zumba® GOLD addresses the anatomical, physiological and psychological needs specfic to these populations. It also includes a Zumba® Chair workout. Zumba® GOLD specifically prepares you to teach the active older adult, whereas Zumba® Basic prepares you to teach to the general exercising population.

Prerequisites:
Must be a current Zumba Instructor and member of the Zumba Instructor Network (ZIN™). This workshop is offered at 50% for ZIN members.

This course incorporates the unique Zumba® Toning Sticks. Learn to add toning to your current Zumba® classes and sessions or provide a separate Zumba® Toning class.

These rhythmic sticks are used on a class as rhythmic enhancers, rhythmic toning devices, and/or as weights to execute standard toning exercises.

Fitness certification recommended.

Prerequisites:
Must be a current Zumba Instructor and member of the Zumba Instructor Network (ZIN™). This workshop is offered at 50% for ZIN members.

This course is the "pool party" workout for all ages. You'll learn how to teach safe, effective and challenging water-based workouts that integrate the Zumba formula and philosophy into traditional aqua fitness disciplines.

AEA, CALA or WaterArt certification recommended.

Must be a current Zumba Instructor and member of the Zumba Instructor Network (ZIN™). This workshop is offered at 50% for ZIN members.

Kids love to crank up the music, shake, wiggle and have a blast with their friends. So why not get fit while they're at it? This course teaches you how to fuse the Zumba program's exciting formula with the psychology and physiology relevant to teaching kids. You'll learn how to modify Zumba moves to get optimal results, and receive tips on discipline and class management. Designed for ages 4-12.

Prerequisites:
Must be a current Zumba Instructor and member of the Zumba Instructor Network (ZIN™). This workshop is offered at 50% for ZIN members.
